Greggs is a hugely popular British bakery chain known for its wide range of savoury and sweet baked goods and drinks. Its stores have grown rapidly over the years and its hard pressed to find a town that does not feature one nearby, and for good reason as a regular visitor myself for its amazing Sausage Roll’s.

In November 2024 Greggs partnered with Top Trumps to release this special set, only available via the Greggs website featuring a chance to obtain one of 5 exclusive gold limited edition cards in each pack. As a fan of Greggs I had to pick this up of course.

The design of the cards are simple, clear and the images perfectly emphasize each menu item as they look for real in store.

Balance does takes a bit of a hit, due to the drinks, as their mouthfuls beat all the food items, so you would not ever be choosing mouthfuls when calling with a food item. But the drinks are weak in all other categories so it its a bit of a trade off that overall does not spoil the overall enjoyment.

The fact file on each card highlights the ingredients within each item well and a case for why its enjoyed by customers. One glairing omission here relates to the Mind Blower symbol which is a fairly new addition on trump cards that states a card with this will have a mind blowing fact you would want tell the world about. However this is attributed to the Vegan Sausage Roll and there is no additional fact to be seen and this is one of the least descripted items with no ingredients mentioned.

As for the the limited edition gold cards, they do not feel or look very special, and because they are also gold on the back, it means that your opponent(s) will know what you have in your hand, does this not even be considered when making these I wonder.
